The Problem Is Not The Thought. The Problem Is The Loop.
The Practice of Understanding Life in Cycles, Patterns, and How to Interrupt Unwanted Cycles.
I remember a time when I was living in Southern California after one of the most intense seasons of my life.
Someone made a comment to me. It wasn’t particularly dramatic, but for some reason, it landed. My mind grabbed onto it and wouldn’t let go.
For days, I replayed the conversation.
I imagined what I should have said.
I wondered what they really meant.
The story kept looping.
At first, I thought the problem was the thought itself.
Then I realized the real problem wasn’t the thought.
It was the loop.
The mind is designed to return to what is familiar. It rehearses old stories, identities, and emotional states until they become automatic. The more attention we give a pattern, the stronger it becomes, not just neurologically, but energetically. Eventually, we begin perceiving life through that pattern.
That’s when I stopped trying to “fix” the thought.
Instead, I began observing the loop.
Every time I noticed myself replaying the story, I interrupted it.
The goal wasn’t to suppress the thought. It was to stop unconsciously feeding it.
Over time, the loop lost its momentum.
That experience became one of the foundations of my work.
Today, I teach what I call the practice of interruption.
When you interrupt an unconscious pattern, you interrupt the future that pattern is creating. You stop reinforcing an old life track and create space for a new one to emerge.
I believe this is one of the most important skills we can cultivate.
Instead of asking, “Why am I having this thought?” you can ask, “What cycle am I participating in?”
We live in a world engineered to capture our attention, amplify emotional reactivity, and keep us recycling the same patterns. Freedom isn’t found in controlling every thought. It’s found in recognizing the loop before it becomes your identity.
Every interruption is a choice.
Every choice is an energetic vote.
And enough conscious interruptions don’t just change your mind—they change the trajectory of your life. Freedom begins when we recognize the cycle we're participating in, and consciously choose whether to continue it or create a new one.
